My name is Philip. I am an expat teaching at a couple colleges here. I restore these classic Cub as a hobby. I rode this bike when I was still a teenager in Vietnam. After returned to Vietnam a year ago, these bikes had brought back so many sweet memories. So I want to share this greatest bike to everyone. Join the FUN and EXPERIENCE with me on this very cute and well-behaved scooter. Compared to many other bikes out there, the Honda Cub is cheaper, friendlier, easier, stylistic, extremely reliable and gas friendly (unlike the Russian Minsk). A full tank around 1 gallon (costs around $60k VND) will give you around 150km or more. It is so easy to maintain. Any repair shop on the street anywhere can fix this for cheap if you ever have a problem.

I currently have a few beautifully restored classic Honda Cub. In addition, I also restore Honda 67 and Chaly. They have different bodies but have very much the same engines. The price is very attractive, but the value is very appealing. It has excellent resale value too. If you maintain it well, you could resale it for the same price or more. Here are some example of some options available:

a. Basic 50cc engine without starter -- 8 millions VND
b. 70cc engine with starter -- 10 million VND
c. 90cc engine with starter -- 11 million VND
d. 100cc engine with starter --12 millions or 10 millions VND without starter. (I have one of these. It can clock over 100km per hour and takes on 4 persons and a cow).

I can custom make a bike anyway you like--any color, style, engine specs, etc. Just let me know. It takes around a week to finish your bike.

This is a lot hotter and better than a new Chinese made scooter for a higher price. Honda Cub is considered the best motorbike in the world. It is extremely reliable and unbreakable. I rode across Vietnam on one of these. Now it is re-custom made to be an eye-catcher on the street. Perfect for touring the city. It is fun to ride, yet No License Required. The foot rest supports are mounted on silent blocks and the foot rests themselves have a double layer of rubber with internal air chamber to absorb bumps; the gear and brake levers can be adjusted by special registers; the handles are made of soft foamed plastic and two counterweights inside the handlebars eliminate vibration; the large saddle is padded with foam material of differentiated density; the anti-theft steering lock is combined with the starting switch, and is activated by the same key that opens the oddment container and helmet hook.

The frame of the Gilera Eaglet is of the single-beam dual cradle type in tubular steel for outstanding rigidity and robustness. The front wheel assembly has a long telehydraulic fork with shafts 32 mm in diameter and offset steering bolt which gives the wheel a stroke of 140 mm. The rear suspension adopts a system of large steel fork and divergent arms that activates an oleo pneumatic single damper to guarantee a wheel excursion of 125 mm. In full respect for tradition, the small Gilera custom cycle fits a new large (18") spoked front wheel and 2.75 x 18" tyre, and a larger 120/90 x 16" tyre on a 2.75 x 16" wheel at the rear. The braking system fits discs front and rear: 240 mm at the front, with two-piston calliper, and 220 mm at the rear with single piston floating calliper.

Genuine 5 speed Honda 67 SS50 for sale in HCMC. Genuine laminated ID registration card with the correct engine and chassis numbers included. Registered member with Saigon 67 Club. Serviced monthly and well maintained by the clubs own mechanic, NO expense spared. The clutch was replaced this month as it was slightly slipping. The electrics are in great condition and are fully functional. The upgaded 90cc engine is in superb condition and runs very sweet. There are no oil leaks from the engine or gearbox. Performance and handling are both fantastic due to the engine upgrade and the bike being so light compared to other SS models. This bike is a real head turner, not the usual run down, un-original examples you will see on the roads and it sounds amazing! I have managed to keep it as original as possible. There are no added extras. I love riding this fast bike and I am reluctantly selling it due to other commitments. The price, $650.

Two Minsk motos that have been running the roads from HCMC to Hanoi, zig zagging from the coast to the HCM Trail, finding dead end roads and remote fishing villages. Solid engines. We've had no substantial troubles, just a few maintenance issues on old bikes which have been repaired. They are old bikes though and the leaking and the repairs are part of the fun(?), as well as arriving in every town covered in diesel fumes and two-stroke oil.

It may be different in the North, but South and Central--NO LOCALS RIDE THESE BIKES. However, they do get a kick out of seeing you on them, we even had a group of elderly gentleman place bets on the makes of the bikes! That said, road side breakdowns and just pulling out a map or two will attract plenty of people willing to help you--usually atleast 5 or more :-)

Includes
-- Large Map of Vietnam that shows small towns and roads not listed in Altas
-- Atlas that shows small towns and roads not listed in the Large Map
-- Beaten Lonely Planet guide for those days you have ridden for 8-10 hrs and dont want to hunt down a place to stay, and has reasonable blow up maps of larger cities
-- Set of tools
-- Whatever two-stoke oil we have left
-- Two locks (not that we ever needed to use them)
-- Spare electrical parts and cables

Other things we've found:
-- Its important to stock up on two stroke oil (2T) when you can, in South/Central it was easier to find in small village petrol stations and misc hardware shops where more people run farming equipment versus the big petrol stations along HWY1 and in the big towns.
-- Buy spares in the big towns before leaving if you can...we couldn't since it was Tet and everything was shut. Sounds like Hanoi really is the easiest place to get it all via the Minsk manual.
-- If you are coming from overseas, do yourself a favor and bring your own nylon cord, tube of lock tight, and duct tape.
-- Most supplies can be found along the way but you'll be surprised by those one or two simple items you can't find.
-- Petrol is easy to find, full on stations in the middle of the mountains right when all the bottle sellers almost had you fooled into thinking you've reached the end and have you coasting in neutral
-- I have contacts and wished I'd had a pair of motoX goggles to keep the dust/grime/oil out of my eyes in addition to sunglasses
-- If you are a woman rider you can inspire near hero worship in the young village girls, and everyone will enjoy waiting around to see if you can actually kick start your bike which usually earns a round of cheers and enthusiastic thumbs up signs

For Sale - The best Minsk in Vietnam (probably)

125cc, 2 stroke engine.

I have owned this for around 4 months now and have used it both for trips around the South of Vietnam and for daily use around and about as I'm working here. As a result I've made sure it's looked after and running fine. It's had three oil changes, carbs cleaned, clutch and brake cables replaced, and any other little things that needed doing. I've relied on this to get me to and from work (on time!!) so it runs absolutely fine and starts every time.

It is the sports version of the Minsk which means it has a slightly smaller top gear and thus will go a bit faster at the top end, it is also a little bit taller than the average (i'm 5'7"and it suits me fine though!), higher and tougher suspension front and back and a slightly larger tank I believe, it also has a sweet green paint job which makes it go much faster still...

I'm off home next month so this bike is available anytime now.

I would take this bike home if I could!

$300 (payment in dollars please because I Dong isn't much use in the Uk!)

Oh and comes with novelty helmet (yes it is road legal!) and a few spanners, bandage (you never know) and some oil, brake cable, gear cable, spark plug remover etc etc. Oh and the address of a garage in HCMC that knows the bike.

Leaving Vietnam so have to sell this PX150 Vespa. Ex saigon scooters rental. Has been overhauled by ss and has new piston, cylinder head, front a rear suspension, exhaust. Goes well sounds great. Has some scratches and dents but perfect if you want a Vespa experience without paying thousands. Has front and rear luggage racks if you are keen to take it up country. Bargain at $800 USD.
